Flat Iron Casements

Our Flat Iron Windows replicate the original Wrought Iron Windows that were first introduced in the late 1600s with glassing panels with H-Section leaded cames for domestic fenestration. In 1973 the last Wrought Iron Foundry closed making original Wrought Iron Casements no longer available; however it is possible for us to replicate these windows by using flat hot rolled sections.

Glazing
Our Flat Iron Casements are available in either leaded lights or single glazed using modern or historical styled glasses.

Conservation and restoration of historical original glass is possible for renewal and replacement schemes or where necessary new glass which is sympathetic to the original may be used.

Leaded Lights and Lattice windows
We offer a full design and manufacture service for leaded lattice windows alongside our typical designs of Diamonds, Square, Queen Anne and bordering styles.

Window Furniture
We offer a full range of Ironmongery to accompany all our Flat Iron Casements that are designed to be aesthetically pleasing and sympathetic to the windows within which they’re set. Or if suitable furnriture is no longer commercially available it is possible to replicate and match from original pieces using traditional methods.

Existing Fittings – Refurbishment
Where windows are in need of refurbishment or replacement they may already have existing furniture that also requires maintenance. In many instances these can be repaired and refurbished back to their original selves instead of having to source or manufacture exact replicas.
