 Leaded Lights and Lattice Windows
We offer a full design and manufacture service for leaded lattice windows alongside typical
designs of Diamond, Square, Queen Anne and bordering styles.
Manufactured in the traditional way using lead H-Section cames that join the pieces of glass together by being cut and dressed around the shapes. The glass is then inserted into the lead flanges and once completed the joints are soldered on each side.
Strength
The leaded panel matrix helps to give the window is strength; Once installed within the surrounding casement, strengthening is further enhanced by the use of steel reinforcement bars (to prevent buckling) which are then copper wired and soldered to the leaded light.
Water Tightness
Water tightness is achieved by the application of lead light cement (based on a mixture of boiled linseed oil, whiting, lamp black and white spirit) brushed under the flanges of the leads to both faces prior to installation.
